EID and the torment of the families of disappeared Baloch

The families of Baloch disappeared person are living with the hope that they might be able to reunite with their loved ones some day, and they will be relieved from this state of uncertainty. Their anxiety and despair grows especially on such occasions/festivals when families are meant to come together to share their happiness. On the day of EID when people around world are celebrating to mark the end of holy month of Ramadhan (fasting), the families of enforced-disappeared are experiencing a disappointing, agonising and heart throbbing time.

The international community is silent to our miseries: Hyrbyair Marri

The body of a lawyer from the Balochistan capital of Quetta, who was abducted by Pakistan's Military Intelligence last month was found from the nearby town of Mastung Sunday evening.

Zaman Khan Marri, a lawyer at the Balochistan High Court, was abducted from outside his law practice office at regal Chambers in downtown Quetta on August 18.

Lawyers in Balochistan boycotted court proceedings for three days in a row to protest the abduction of the Russia-educated lawyer.

"This is a scare tactic. A test to see how the Baloch will react," Balochistan national hero Hyrbyair Marri said on phone from London.

A Century of Torture by New Mayans

A Century of overt torture over nations has been coming as a ritual performed in the ancient times by Mayan civilization, where one powerful nation sought to conquer and digest the very identity of the oppressed nation. Like in Mayan Civilization, the Mayan rulers waged war on rival Mayan cities, took their rulers captive, destroyed the civilized tribes and their land then tortured them and ritually sacrificed them to the gods, this ritual too can be seen in today's time where powerful nation take control over the territories which never belongs to them. Repression, torture, demolished cities & annihilate the national identity is always the features of a powerful oppressor, and if one want to seek these features then this era is full of oppressors who are performing these rituals according to Mayan civilization.

There is no way to measure which is the worst when it comes to human rights violations: Gaza, Iraq, Afghanistan or Balochistan.

Curt Goering, who is senior deputy executive director of Amnesty International USA (AIUSA), and currently works at the organization’s national section headquarters in New York City, said this at an Iftar gathering organized by the Amnesty International at its Washington DC headquarters Tuesday.

The Hong Kong-based Asian Legal Resource Center (A.L.R.C.) has called upon Islamabad to invite the Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances to conduct a country visit.

In a written submission to the United Nations Human Rights Council ahead of the 15th session in September, the A.L.R.C.said Pakistan is beset by grave and widespread human rights violations by various State-agencies and institutions, notably by the notorious Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) and the military.
